Tournament results 2010

LCGC Members, just a reminder that our tournament at Paradise Valley Golf Course in Fairfield on February 21st will now serve as the first round of our Two Man NCGA Qualifier with the second round to be played the following Sunday, February 28th at Lake Chabot GC (1st tee time 7:00am). If Chabot should be deemed unplayable on the 28th, the Paradise Valley round will determine the winners and the Chabot round will not be made up. Players are welcome to play both days without entering the NCGA portion. Please send your greens fees for Paradise Valley only ($61) to the LCGC P.O. Box 21387 Oakland 94620 no later than two weeks prior to the event. Players wishing to participate in the Two Man NCGA competition need to add an additional $10 buy-in to there greens fees ($71).

The previously scheduled Two Man NCGA Event on March 28th and April 11th has been canceled and a new tournament will take it's place.

We will now play The Four Club Tournament on April 11th only. The four club is very popular and has not been played for a while. Players are allowed only four golf clubs in there bag, including putter, to use over the 18 holes that day. Look forward to seeing you at this one.

The Manteca Tournament was well attended and we only saw moderate rain on the last few holes. Everyone had a good time with the results below.

LCGC members,
Our next tournament is the Laura McCaffery Memorial on March 14th at Lake Chabot. This is an annual 2 person team event with a unique format.
Holes 1-6 are played best ball with full handicap strokes,
Holes 7-12 are alternate shot with 1/2 combined strokes,
Holes 13-18 are a scramble with no nstrokes.
The top few teams win prize money and the winning team has their name engraved on the Laura McCaffery Memorial trophy in the hallway.
Deadline for entry is Sunday March 7th with fees due the day of the event. If you have not already signed up, please e-mail me before Sunday.

Laura McCaffery Memorial

Congratulations to Don Cushman and Joann Ugolini for winning the Laura McCaffery Memorial!

Their names are being engraved on the trophy to be displayed in the trophy case at Lake Chabot.

And thanks to the McCaffery's for their donation to the prize fund.

NCGA Two Person Qualifier

LCGC Members, because of a scheduling conflict, we have decided to shorten the NCGA Senior Two Man Qualifier to one round only on May 16, 2010. The winning team will advance to regional qualifying. Seniors must be 55 years old by September 16, 2010 to be eligible.

All members are welcome to play this day in a two man best ball net competition. We will pair your two man team with another twosome for a best ball match and you can decide what amount you want to play for, if any (I propose $10 per team). There will be no club payouts and the first tee time is at 7:00am. Sign up on the hallway board at Chabot or send me an e-mail. - John Vasquez

Mark Cadigan Invitational at Las Positas

LCGC Members, our next tournament on the schedule is the Mark Cadigan Invitational at Las Positas GC in Livermore on July 11th. The 1st tee time is at 9:30 and the cost is $63.00. You need to have your money into LCGC  PO Box 21387 Oakland Ca. 94620 by June 27th to be included in this great event. There will be a BBQ following golf at Brian Cadigan's home at 19141 Parsons Ave in Castro Valley. Brian and company will supply food and beverages for the BBQ and small donations are welcome (we will have a donation jar) and we hope to see you all at this event where we can come together and enjoy great golf and spend some time having fun at the BBQ. Individual NCGA Qualifying

Congratulations to Joe Mitchell and Steve Vasquez for winning the Individual NCGA Qualifier played June 6th & 13th. They will both advance to regional play with Lake Chabot Golf Club covering all their expenses. Good luck to you both!
